Welcome

The story of who we are and what we do is approaching 85 years in the making – and it all started in July of 1938 when NMC was appointed the Caterpillar distributor for western Nebraska and opened its first location in North Platte.

During the early years in business, NMC hit the ground running by providing Caterpillar earthmoving equipment for the Kingsley Dam – the second largest hydraulic fill dam in the world which holds back the waters of the North Platte River and forms Lake McConaughy. We also contributed to the massive efforts that were needed to create the US interstate highway system as it moved west across Nebraska.

Since our humble start in North Platte back in 1938 we’ve opened five more locations in Nebraska and one in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to better serve and support the hardworking people and businesses that reside in those communities. Throughout this growth our goals have remained constant: to build deep, value-added relationships with our customers, employ the most talented professionals, and partner with the best brands in the industry. With this simple approach, NMC hopes to continue as a prosperous and lasting enterprise for generations to come.

And with nearly 85 years behind us, we’ve never been more excited to discover what the years ahead will bring to our story.
