NMC embarks on its first train trip to the Caterpillar factory in Peoria, Illinois, with 180 guests.
1943
While NMC was supplying equipment to the war effort of the early 1940s, the North Platte rail yard was a stopping point for servicemen on their way to war. NMC employees were among the community volunteers of the North Platte Canteen, which between 1941 and 1946 provided more than 6 million members of the armed forces with home-baked goods and a warm welcome on their journey.
